We are about to deploy SEP 12.1 to our workstations. Our current AV Solution is MS Forefront Endpoint. I am running through some testing with our environment. At this time I am unable to consistently remove the forefront client from workstations during the install of SEP. We are using SEP 12.1 which supports automated removal of installed AV solutions including FEP 2010.
I have done the following steps with the following results:
- Created new "Install Settings" entry that is set to "Automatically uninstall existing security software"
- Created an MSI package using the above "Install Settings"
- Used same MSI pacage for deployment via SCCM. Following steps from here: http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/sep-12-sccm-deploy-sepmsi-or-setupexe It appears that when I use SCCM to deploy the client, it will not uninstall Forefront.
Results:
Pushed via client deployment wizard - Removed FEP
Deployed MSI via SCCM - Did not remove FEP
Deployed MSI manually - Removed FEP
Any thoughts as to why the package is not uninstalling FEP when run through SCCM?
Thanks!
