I need your help in regards to live update for symantec endpoint protection in our client machine running Windows7. We want all the client machine to get SEP defination update from our Symantec Server. Below is the current senario and require further help.
1) We have Symantec Endpoint protection 11.0 server which gets update from Symantec live update site at 8AM EST. We have shared the folder Downloads where our server downloads defination updates (Path is:: C:\ProgramData\Symantec\LiveUpdate\Downloads) and have given read rights to authenticated users.
2) In client live update policy we have mentioned UNC path of our Symanetc Server '''\\**.***.**.**\Downloads"
3) Till date out servers are updates with latest definition. But the problem is that when we update it manually altough the clientis updates with latest definition we get error "Unable to connec to host LU1814: Live update couldn't retrive the catalog file of available symantec product component updates".
Also, would like to know will my client system get updated from the UNC path (internal Symantec server) if the client is missing many updates or if the client is freshly installed with Symantec AV and needs to updates with the latest definations? Is there any limitation that my server can store few definition updates in download folder and the older definition gets deleted.
