Shared Definitions from SEP 12.X and SMSMSE

Does anyone know if Symantec will bring back shared definitions for their products installed on the same server?  It seems outrageous (at least to me) that we have to have separate massive downloads when updating both SEP and SMSMSE when installed on the same server.
