I need a solution

Hello All,

I have an interesting problem I am trying to solve. We just upgraded to version 7.0.2.29 from version 6.5.6 of Symantec mail security. In the old version we implemented the work around noted here.

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?pag...

We had pdf files that were password protected being quarantined because SMSMSE was classifying them as unscannable. We implemented the above work around and we were able to bypass the quarantine and it worked nicely for password protected \ encrypted pdf files. Since upgrading to the latest version Symantec has in a way fixed the issues of password protected pdf's being scanned and classified as unscannable. They are now being properly classified as an encrypted file which we have set to block. This is all good in well that Symantec is working as intended. However, we still would like to be able to bypass the quarantine for password protected \ encrypted pdf's but there does not appear to be a work around available. The Tech document noted above is dependent on the fact that you will have a file being classified as unscannable. Now that Symantec is doing a better job at classification in this case classifying password protected \ encrypted pdf's as such it looks like are hands are now tied. Does anyone have any ideas for a workaround?

Thanks!
