I am using windows 7 operating system, and have Microsoft office 2013 installed on my PC. It appears to be working fine but I keep getting a block up stating that symantic is blocking svchost.exe. Should I be concerned about thiis? I called Symantic and they advised me since it was a home pc they had no capability to hook up to my pc. They advised me to join techguy.org forum and ask the question out there. I did what the technical advisor advised and put my question out there.
One response I received back was from a gentlemen that stated: I think a better question is not how to get rid of the security warning, but why is the warning popping up in the first place. Maybe something has hijacked svchost and using it to send out your captured keystrokes, user names and passwords. You paid for the security software to warn you, and it is doing its job. This gentlemen advised me to go and start this concern on the endpoint forum which I am doing now.
Do you think that someone could have hijacked svchost?
My Dell representative advised me to put it as a exception under symantic endpoint protection but it still keeps popping up. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. thank you! Bostonredsoxs
