I need a solution

Hi all,

For about one month we have faced this issue. The server works ok during the day but at some time in the night, it hungs up so when I come to the office in the morning I have to reset the virtual server (not restart because it doesn't accept that order) and then it works ok as I said.

I saw that the process named httpd.exe is consuming a lot of NP memory so I think that the issue is related with memory handle, paging and things like that. I investigated a lot and I'll show you the things that I already tried with no success.

  • Cancelled the backup job of the VM.
  • Update and then reinstall the VmTools (because I saw some relationship between the time of the issue on the system log and the app log).
  • Manual migration og the VM to diferent hosts and with different users.
  • Change the connection tipe (PULL instead of PUSH) and heartbeat.
  • Change some registry values to cleanup the page file at 60% instead of 80% as default on the OS.
  • Increment the pagefile.
  • Increase the physical memory
  • Register some DCOM components again (changing some permissions).

The only thing that worked was restart the server at 6:00 p.m. so the server didn't hung during the night, but yes did the day after.

The OS is Windows Server Enterprise 2008 x64.

RAM: 8gb

Free Sapce on disk: 13.9gb

SEPM version: 12.1.4

clients on SEPM: 3058 (online: 2500)

We worked with a lot of differents locations and subnets so we use IpSec to block the traffic during the day and release it after 5:00 p.m. but the blocked IP are not the mayor.

Hope you can help

Thanks in advance
