My PGPWDE installation 'provided' an entry in the startup menu under documentation called (admittedly strange) tpip.html, which when clicked wiped out/uninstalled the desktop part of PGP. It happens to be a compiled object. Why Symantec puts this there w/o any explantion is pretty boneheaded. Although I will cop to foolishly clicking on an obscure entry in the help menu, thinking it was actual help and not a halfway uninstallation of the product. The encryption still works, I can log on to the machine fine. I can shutdown/startup the machine BUT - there is no longer any PGP desktop application nor PGP shredder. So I imagine there's no longer any way to unencrypt, manage it, etc etc etc.
So my question(s) is: 1) how do I recover the desktop app, 2) if there is no way to do that w/o an re install of the PGP then what precisely and I do mean PRECISELY what steps do I have to do. If for example I'd have to decrypt the drive first then how do I that. If not then will my old keys work or will I have to re register. If not, and it's a 'simple matter' of re installing PGP then I need to know that.
