I would like to ask 1 question. We have installed symantec endpoint protection 12.0 in server. Now i have to run the ccproxy application on the same server. Now some time net is working or sometime not because of some port are blocked by the symantec endpoint protection. We are using ccproxy port no. 1080, 808, 2121, 23, 119, 80 port. How can i allow these ports from symantec endpoint protection. My concern is that the same port is also using the symantec for working . plz suggest me asap.

I recently upgraded my Home Wireless Router to a Netgear WNDR3700. Going from a
Linksys 10/100 Wired/Wireless G to a 1GB wired dual band G/N.
My Symantec is as updated as can possibly be for version 11.0.5000,550 running
Live Update All daily.
I have mitigated the problem somewhat by reducing the time out to 1 second.
I am NOT a Network Guru and I am at a loss to know how to tell whether this is a
'UDP Flood' situation because of the increased bandwidth or a "real" DOS attack.
The reason I upgraded was to support my new Silicon Dust HDHomerun Prime HD (3
Tuners) DVR system. I am concerned that this problem will occur during a
recording session and blow it out of the water.
I am no longer on my 'Good' Laptop as it is now my Media Center (The DVR requires
Win 7 Windows Media Center to work). So, I can't say for sure if it is actually
happening there or not. (The one I am one most is now a Dell Latitude D600! Great
for e-mail and FB :) )
Primary concern is how to tell if it is a real DOS attack or not...
Secondary, is I am still getting (assumed - Firefox can't fid server) DNS
handshaking misses. (Using IE8 Right now as default)
Of course... I may have the router set up wrong, too...

Im using SEP 12.1.2 and Win 7 Pro 64bits SP1. That machine does not "move" to get virus definitions. I have GUP for this job, and if GUP fail, goes to Manager.
But, the problem is that when I check the log, in Client, View Log, Client Management, System Log. There is no one line "trying" to get updates. I activated Debug log from the client, and in the log I can see the process of GUP Candidate and it shows very well.
I installed an Intelligent Updater, to fix definitions, just to try, but no way to use GUP or Manager to update. I removed the product, using Clean Wipe too, but no success.
So, I downgraded to 12.1.671 and now, works great.
In the View Log, Client Management and System Log, I can now see the client using the GUP very well.
So, is there any problem with that version or what?
Look, I did all test to check the connectivity between Client and GUP as well.

location awareness is enabled and checks frequency set to 10 seconds. 10 locations.
On some computers, move from locations takes more than 1 minute.
Debug.log activated but nothing interesting...
=> How to log or check each criteria check in order to see which one takes a lot of time ?
Seems that this is a support only capability.... but we really need this !

I have an updated SLF license file for our DLP implimentation. Where does this get applied?
Everything installs without any issues on the client systems. Then I started having issues with the clients
checking back to the SEM and having successfully registering the client. I did notice when I tried to access HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Encryption Anywhere\Framework key, I didn't have access to just that key. I am logged into the system has a Domain Admin so, permissions shouldn't be an issue. I uninstall all of Symantec Endpoint Framwork from the system and reinstall it. Same issue. Tried it on several systems here and still having the same issue. Does anyone have any ideas?

We are experiencing what is becoming a reoccurring issue with our SMG 10.1-2 where randomly we will experience a message slow down on inbound messages. We do not see a build up of messages in any (inbound, delivery or outbound) queues. We do notice that a telnet session will start to become very slow updating and making initial connection. Outbound message delivery is normal. This will become worse and outbound message delivery will(may) become effected. After some time this appears to go back to normal operation (without intervention) and messages start flowing again. If we restart the MTA this seems to immediately correct the slowness and messages & connections return to normal. I have not been able to with any certainty say this is caused by excessive connection attempts using the firewall connection stats -we only have real time no logging.
Has anyone experienced similar issues -that can be associated with SMG, and do you have recommendations as to where I can look to see if the root cause is something wrong with SMG or maybe the SMG is just performing the way it should throttling in response to outside influence. As stated I do not have any firewall logs nor do I have access to the firewall interface to check its connection logs / or attempts at the time of the slowness.
