We currently use Symantec Endpoint Encryption Device Control v8.2.5 to manage various aspects of our Windows 7 workstations. One of the features we make use of is the anti-hybrid network bridging policy, which prevents both the wired and wireless NICs from being active at the same time. This policy works on about 99% of our laptops, but occassionally it will fail to take effect for a given machine, and both adapters will be active at the same time and both pulling IP addresses. We use 8 different Dell models in our COE, and this issue doesn't seem to be tied to any specific model. Sometimes re-imaging the machine fixes the issue, sometimes it doesn't. I spoke with Symantec support and they stated this was a known bug, bug the technical document they showed me only showed that it was an issue for Windows 7 x64. We only use x86. Any ideas what steps we might take to resolve this? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
